The twenty four months project will assess the effectiveness or otherwise of the 2-bins (labeled) waste receiver system practiced in developed countries. As such, food-related waste would be dumped in one bin while plastic and rubber wastes would be dumped in the second. We will scout and place waste disposal stewards (called “Fa Hye mu” Watch) by each set of bin to sensitize & direct people Wishing to dispose of waste.
The waste will be collected at regular intervals using a waste disposal tricycle to be provided by YHF. The “Fa Hyɛ Mu” Project is born out of the organization’s commitment to support the campaign for a clean society through improved sanitation. The project is intended to create a structured waste collection process that involves providing Special plastic collections bins (Red, Yellow and Green).
This “Fa Hyɛ Mu” Project aims at improving sanitation within our municipalities through increased public awareness on solid waste disposal best practices and this would be accompanied by an education and awareness campaign that will target Schools, hawkers and the general public to make use of all other waste Bins to avoid littering around.
